Self-love and motivation improves with affirmations. How can it not? But where else can we find these fantastic drives for our daily lives? Because there are so many places self-love and motivation are helpful, we must discover how important they are by paying attention to our personal dharmas.
What the heck is my dharma?
I had no idea what I would be getting into when I joined the Master Key Experience but what I found was this “dharma” was a crucial step and the backbone to the beginning of my new journey. We were guided to finding our life’s purpose with encouragement from the Master Key guides. It includes our personal pivotal needs like liberty, recognition for creative expression, legacy, true health, autonomy, spiritual or helping others. My guide pushed me to have my words laid out crystal clear so that our sub-conscious could hear it loud and clear. We learned to always remember our sub-conscious (subby) is just like a young child and takes everything literally.
Where does self-love and motivation come in?
Once I realized what I truly wanted from my life (goals if you like), I found more joy in little things like getting out of bed in the morning. If we know which direction we are headed, there is more desire to do the little things that need doing along the way. Our lives are filled with more incentives and clarity as to why we are here and how we can be more fulfilled. Each day truly becomes an enjoyable journey. We learn from Haanel, “our emotions will invariably seek to express themselves in action. The emotion of love will therefore seek expression in demonstrations of loving service.”
“I greet this day with love in my heart”– Og Mandino

With love in my heart, it follows that there is self-love and loving services. We care about our own happiness and well-being. By doing this, we can also be better human beings. Even in an airplane, we are instructed to take care of ourselves with an oxygen mask in an emergency before we help others. Without knowing our life’s true purpose (dharma), we cannot begin to truly express self-love.
So the self-love and motivation really stem from knowing ourselves and paying attention to our desires. Our wishes and reasons for moving through each day, each week and each year, end up as a catalyst for creating our dharmas. Our strides become more definite, more purposeful and more intentional. We are motivated to step into our life’s journey!
